10. What's a book or movie that changed the way you saw the world?

Here's a bit of everything, in no particular order:

The Bacchae by Euripides - This will sound weird but this is when I first understood suffering as cleansing. It's when I got what chatarsis means. I just remember being 16 and not realizing I was crying until I had closed the book. It was. Revelatory. Of parts of myself I had''t known existed before. In other news, every day I wish I was half as good as Euripides at emotions.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll - I read this during the second worst summer of my life, when I really wanted to get lost, forever, and it made me realize I didn't really want to get lost, actually, I was just really lonely.

Fairy Tales Over the Phone by Gianni Rodari - This is how I discovered science fiction and also the power of imagination. I've mentioned this book before but it really was. Fundational. For my understanding of writing and the world, and not only because it was one of my favourite books for bedtime story time.

The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels - Not to be communist on main, but the feeling of having what you thought about the world be proved right by old German men with very impressive beards is life-changing.

The Modern School by Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia - I read this last year for school and it's definitely what's made me turn towards libertarian and also the book I can literally say has changed how I see the world, or more like how I want to see the world.

Velvet Goldmine (Todd Haynes, 1998) - Hey, I'm gay and pretentious, what can I say?

Ponyo (Hayao Miyazaki, 2008) - It's not the only reason why I care about the environment but it's up there. I just want to make the sea goddess proud...

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman; 2018) - I watched this literally two days ago and I really left the cinema thinking that I Was Spider-Man, that I could take any choice I want and make it work out. Also just a 10/10 movie in general, oh my god, it's BEAUTIFUL.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (Kelly Asbury, Lorna Cook; 2002) - I was four when I discovered what Cinemà is.

11. What book have you given most to others?

This is not really what this is asking but I have very strong memories of reading the Fairy Oak series basically through my friends and I each buying one book whenever we could and then interchanging them at recess. God, but I'm fond of that series, I should revisit it at one point.
